After his triumph at the US Open, Novak Djokovic has been going through a whole host of emotions back home in Belgrade. Djokovic received a heartfelt welcome as thousands of fans gathered near Belgrade’s city hall to honour both the Serbian national basketball team as well as their tennis icon. Djokovic delighted the crowds when he made an unexpected appearance as part of the celebration for the Serbian national basketball team's silver medal win at the FIBA World Cup . Apart from this, Djokovic’s title was also massive for Serbia, and the way it was celebrated in Belgrade was a testament to how much the result meant for the nation as well as the tennis star. Djokovic addressed the jubilant crowd from the balcony and expressed his gratitude before breaking down into tears. Serbian basketball star Nikola Milutinov stepped up as he offered consolation and support to the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
