Jannik Sinner defeated the two-time winner and defending Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz to secure his maiden Grand Slam title on grass. After losing the first set by 4-6, Sinner came right back into the match and found his rhythm to go a break point up over Alcaraz, subsequently winning the second set, 6-4.
Sinner – the new Wimbledon champion
There was no looking back for the Italian from there as he got the better of the Spaniard in the following two sets as well, with similar scores. It was game, set, and match after four sets.
This was Jannik Sinner’s fourth Grand Slam title win and second of the year. He emerged victorious at the start of the year as well as at the Australian Open 2025. The victory became more special to Sinner as it came against Alcaraz, who entered the Centre Court after five consecutive wins over Sinner. Moreover, it was a sweet revenge for the French Open loss that he incurred last month.

That is equal to lifetime titles of Sir Andy Murray + Stan Wawrinka + Andy Roddick + Lleyton Hewitt, all combined.#SinCaraz
