President Pranab Mukherjee will confer the country’s highest civilian award Bharat Ratna upon Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on 4 February at a ceremony to be held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. A report on India Today said that Tendulkar will receive the award just months after retiring from the sport. The rehearsal of the ceremony will take place on 3 February. The decision to give Tendulkar the award was announced shortly after the Master Blaster played his 200th and final Test against West Indies in his hometown Mumbai.
