Olympic silver medal winner P.V. Sindhu arrived in Hyderabad on Monday to a hero's welcome. The star shuttler was received at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport by her parents, relatives, ministers and officials from both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Sindhu and her coach Pullela Gopichand were accorded a grand welcome as they came out of the airport. Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mehmood Ali and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N. Chinnarajappa and ministers from the two states presented bouquets. However, the comments from Mehmood Ali, the Telangana deputy Chief minister about providing better coaching facilities enraged Twitteratti who lambasted the the Telangana CM.

"Sindhu is our daughter and she has made us proud. We are planning to give Sindhu proper coaching so that she can fetch gold next time," Times of India reported the deputy CM as saying.
