While the main focus will be on the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy, several celebrities, including pop sensation Taylor Swift, are expected to attend the event. The Grammy-winning singer has been in attendance in quite a few NFL matches in recent times to cheer her boyfriend, Kansas star Travis Kelce.

The half-time show will be headlined by Usher, who is expected to entertain the Super Bowl audience with his groovy tracks.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been quite dominant throughout this NFL season. They have claimed the AFC West Title for the eighth-consecutive time after finishing the regular season at 11-6. The Chiefs continued their scintillating form during the Wild Card Weekend on home soil to beat the Miami Dolphins. The Kansas City Chiefs subsequently overcame the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Playoff before triumphing over the Baltimore Ravens in the Conference Championships to confirm their berth in Super Bowl LVIII.

The San Francisco 49ers have also demonstrated their quality in the NFC regular season, with 24-year-old Brock Purdy putting up some remarkable performances. He has completed 69.4 per cent of his throws while recording 31 touchdowns and 11 interceptions as the 49ers finished at a record 12-5. Purdy is set to become the third-youngest quarterback to feature in the Super Bowl this year.

On their way to the biggest game, the 49ers have seen off the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional round and the Detroit Lions in the Conference Championship to set up the monumental clash against the Chiefs.
