The NFL is reportedly planning to remove the “End Racism” message from the back of the end zones for Super Bowl LIX after a White House official said that US president Donald Trump will be attending the match. Trump is set to become the first US president to attend a Super Bowl while in office.
The “End Racism” slogan will be replaced with “Choose Love” and “It Takes All of Us,” said a report in the-express.com. The “End Racism” was introduced in NFL matches in 2021 after the murder of George Floyd led to global outcry and a renewed focus on racist incidents in the country. It has been a part of the league matches ever since.
NFL looks to avoid dispute with Trump
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said the new statements can serve as an inspiration for the country. “We felt it was an appropriate statement for what the country has collectively endured, given recent tragedies, and can serve as an inspiration,” McCarthy said.
Also, McCarthy did not specify which “recent tragedies” he was talking about but the recent crisis in the US included wildfires in Los Angeles and a plane crash near Washington DC.
It is not clear at the moment if the “End Racism” slogan will return to the NFL after the Super Bowl LIX but the move is seen as an attempt by the league to avoid having any disputes with Trump who recently started his second tenure as the US president.
The Super Bowl LIX will be played on 9 February between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
Shortly after reclaiming office in 2025, Trump issued executive orders cutting funding for DEI programs and placing federal DEI employees on paid leave, with plans for extensive layoffs.

More ShortsNFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was recently asked about the future of the Rooney Rule, which has been in force since 2002. As per the Rooney Rule, teams are required to consider minority candidates for head coach positions.
Goodell called the Rooney Rule “a very positive step” in hiring and said the league remains committed to it.
