India’s Shreyasi Joshi has etched her name in the history books by claiming double gold at the 2025 Asian Roller Skating Championships, held in South Korea.

India’s Shreyasi Joshi has made history at the global front by capturing two gold medals at the Asian Roller Skating Championships 2025, held in South Korea.  After becoming the first Indian to clinch gold in the Inline Freestyle – Classic Slalom, Shreyasi went on to claim her second gold in the Battle Slalom event.  

Joshi’s spectacular double triumph has been hailed as a defining moment for Indian roller sports, as she became an inspiration for the next generation.

Shreyasi’s reaction after striking double gold for India

Reacting to her win, Joshi said: “It was surreal skating in the final—years of hard work led to this moment, and I hope it inspires others.”

Shreyasi’s achievement is making rounds on social media. Indian sports enthusiasts have called her victory a landmark moment for Indian roller sports. She is being hailed for breaking barriers and setting a new benchmark in Classic Slalom. Educational qualifications and career

Shreyasi, a student at MIT World Peace University in Pune, received congratulations from her institution, which hailed her as an inspiration to young athletes nationwide.

Shreyasi, a 10-time national champion, has dominated inline freestyle skating for years. She started skating at age three alongside her sister Swarali, a 9-time national champion who represented India at the Paris Slalom World Cup in 2022. After four years, the sisters switched to inline freestyle, a move that transformed their careers.
