Michael Schumacher has slammed the quality of Pirelli’s tyres, complaining that they are like driving on ‘raw eggs’. The seven-time world champion spoke against the degradation of the Italian tire-maker’s products for a situation which has seen four race winners in as many starts this year and a much closer battle between the drivers. “I just think that they’re playing a much too big effect because they are so peaky and so special that they don’t put our cars or ourselves to the limit,”
he told CNN

[/caption] “We drive like on raw eggs and I don’t want to stress the tires at all. Otherwise you just overdo it and you go nowhere.” The German has spoken out against Pirelli, hinting that the company should rethink its approach after a lot of drivers struggled with tire degradation at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Pirelli replaced Bridgestone as Formula One’s tire supplier in 2011, bagging a three-year contract to do so. In their defence, Pirelli say they should be praised for making the season much more exciting. Their director Paul Hembery said: “It’s a very, very aggressive approach that we took. It’s what we were asked to do. We were asked to bring challenges to the teams and this is what we’ve done.” Schumacher may be upset, but his teammate Nico Rosberg had a completely opposite view. The Chinese Grand Prix winner said, " I find it a big challenge for us drivers and an interesting challenge. It’s different but very interesting. It’s so on a knife’s edge with the tires that it’s good and it’s great for racing." While German legend Schumacher is still waiting for his first podium finish since coming out of retirement two years back, Nico Rosberg stands sixth in the drivers’ rankings. Read the full story
