Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has reportedly given his consent to the signing of Sao Paulo playmaker Lucas. The Spanish club is willing to pay a fee of 50 million euros for the 19-year-old to move to the Bernabeu before next season. The attacking midfielder is part of FIFA’s list of players to watch in the 2011-12 season. After interest from numerous clubs, it looks like the speedy play-maker will head for Europe. He has also become a regular in the national set-up with his impressive club performances. In 91 appearances for the Brazilian club, he has amassed 23 goals and created another 16. Earlier Lucas’ father Jorge Rodrigues confirmed Real Madrid’s interest in the young Brazilian international. “Mourinho said that if there is anybody who is ready to go to Europe it’s Lucas,” Rodrigues was quoted as saying by Xinhua. Lucas has also been linked with moves to Chelsea, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Paris-Saint Germain (PSG) and Manchester United. With input from Agencies
