Indian mixed doubles pair of Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi are out of the Australian Open. The number six seeds, lost their semi-final match in straight sets to eight seeds Bethanie Mattek-Sands from United States, and Horia Tecau from Romania. The final score at the end of the match was 6-3, 6-3. From the Indian contingent Leander Paes and Czech partner Radik Stepanek are still in the running and two will play in the finals against number one seeds the Bryan brothers. Paes and Stepanek are unseeded. Paes could also figure in the mixed doubles final if he and Russian Elena Vesnina win their semi-final match. The unseeded duo hadn’t played together since the French Open last year. Errani and Vinci were playing in their first Grand Slam final together.
