The 100 that had been one year in waiting finally came about as Sachin Tendulkar completed his century of tons today. However, Tendulkar showed minimal emotion after reaching a milestone that is unlikely to be emulated in the near or distant future. Sachin said, “I was not playing on for my 100th hundred. Everyone had an opinion on cricket. I was not thinking of the milestone.” After 33 innings and over a year, Tendulkar finally got to the elusive ton against Bangladesh in an Asia Cup league match at a packed Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Mirpur. [/caption]The cricketer said that it has been a tough phase for him. “I started off the season batting reasonably well, I was luckless”, he said. He said although the feeling has not sunk in, he has definitely lost 50 kilos. “When I scored my 99th hundred no body spoke about it. The 100th hundred was a media creation. But I was not bothered, " Tendulkar said. The God of cricket went on to say that it doesn’t matter how many hundreds a cricketer scores, he still has to put his head down and score for the team. “Dreams do come true. I had to wait for one for 22 years (the World Cup),” he said.
