FIFA has released their list of top 10 goals of the year for the Ferenc Puskas Award. Users of FIFA.com and France Football Magazine can vote till December 5th to determine the winner. Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney is on the list for his overhead bicycle kick scored against local rivals and current title challengers Manchester City in last year’s 2-1 victory. Lionel Messi’s Champions League winner against Arsenal also made it to the list alongside Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani dos Santos who scored a beautifully measured chip for Mexico in the Gold Cup final. [/caption] Dejan Stankovic’s sensational goal from half-line earned a place while Brazil’s young star Neymar’s solo effort also has a chance of winning the prestigious honour. United States women’s team player Heather O’Reilly is nominated for her long range strike against Colombia in the Women’s World Cup. The list contains two more overhead kicks- one by Julio Gomez scored in the U-17 World Cup for Mexico and the other scored by Lisandro Lopez.
