The life of a manager of a big football club isn’t easy. Aside from handling the functioning of the club, they also have to juggle the big players and their even bigger egos and keep things on an even keel, something that Rafa Benitez has been failing at.

Ronaldo to Benitez during heated Real Madrid training session: 'go f*** yourself'

The life of a manager of a big football club isn’t easy. Aside from handling the functioning of the club, they also have to juggle the big players and their even bigger egos and keep things on an even keel — something that Rafa Benitez needs to learn quickly at Real Madrid. [caption id=“attachment_2147051” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo celebrates scoring. AP Cristiano Ronaldo is not too pleased with his new manager Rafa Benitez. AP[/caption] Carlo Ancelotti’s successor seems to have committed that one cardinal sin that a manager at Los Blancos must not commit: be on the wrong side of Cristiano Ronaldo. One of the greatest and most valuable players to have played the game, Cristiano Ronaldo knows how to throw a tantrum and managers tread lightly when it comes to him. Benitez, however, seems to be of the opinion that Ronaldo, like Luka Modric, Karim Benzema, James Rodriguez and others, is just another player at the club. According to a report in _ as.com, t_hings got  heated at a training session when Benitez disallowed a goal scored by Ronaldo and the Portuguese star wasn’t too pleased about it, to put it mildly. Ronaldo retorted in his mother tongue, blurting out ‘Vai Caralho!’, which in english means ‘go f*** yourself’. Later on, he also seemed miffed with Benitez asking the team to hit the crossbar — Ronaldo would rather put the ball between the sticks than see his shots rebound off them. The Ronaldo-Benitez tiff started when the former Napoli manager, in a press conference,  had declined to label Ronaldo as the best player in the world. “I think describing Ronaldo as ‘one of the best’ is sufficient,” Benitez had said in the conference, according to Eurosport. However, in an ESPN FC report, Benitez denied that any tension exists between them and said Ronaldo’s competitiveness “clearly shows he’s the best in the world”. “There are people that say this or that, but I can assure you that it’s not true. My relationship with him is absolutely normal,” the report quoted the Real Madrid boss as saying. With the falling out between the manager and the star player, t ransfer rumours of Ronaldo returning to Manchester United have been doing the rounds. No one can gain as much from the Ronaldo-Benitez falling out as Manchester United fans, who still hope for the return of their prodigal son. Watch Ronaldo expressing his displeasure in a not-so-polite manner below:
