Rio Olympics 2016: While Michael Phelps wins medals, his son Boomer wins Instagram
Even as Michael Phelps basks in the glory of gold medals and records in Rio, there is another Phelps who sharing the limelight – the 31-year-old's infant son Boomer
In yet another extraordinary achievement for the phenomenon called Michael Phelps, the Olympic legend won the 200m individual medley on Thursday to capture his 22nd gold medal, becoming the first swimmer to win the same event at four consecutive Games. His medal haul has now risen to 26, including two silver and two bronze, with the 100m butterfly final still to come on Friday.
But even as Michael Phelps basks in the glory of gold medals and records in Rio, there is another Phelps who sharing the limelight – the 31-year-old's infant son Boomer, with fiancé Nicole Johnson.
The adorable baby rose to instant fame after Phelps was snapped kissing Boomer after he won the men's 200m butterfly at the Olympic Aquatics Stadium on Tuesday.
But Boomer Robert Phelps, all of three months, is already a star. The stylish kid has been quite the sensation on social media with his Instagram page that has over three lakh followers. He posts regularly about daddy and his events, looking like the perfect mascot for Team USA flag bearer Phelps, as he sports monogrammed “MP” merchandise as well as Uncle Sam's Red, White and Blue.
