India’s day will begin with the men’s 50m pistol qualification, an event that many in the country are looking forward to owing to the presence of world cup winner Jitu Rai. Prakash Nanjapaa will also compete in the qualification round. In archery, India’s Bombayla Devi and Deepika Kumari will be in action in the round of 64 individual Event. Bombayla Devi will be up against Austria’s Laurence Baldauff, while former world number one Deepika Kumari will face Kristine Esebua from Georgia. In weightlifting, India’s Satish Sivalingam will compete in the men’s 77kg category qualification round.
