Four athletes will take the field for India in individual events on day four, while the men’s hockey team will also be in action, a day after their last-gasp loss to Germany. The only medal chance for India on Tuesday will be in the women’s 25m pistol shooting, where Heena Sidhu will be competing. If she qualifies, the semifinal and final of the event will also be later in the day. In rowing, Dattu Bhokanal will be competing in the quarterfinals. The sole India rower in Rio finished third in his single sculls heats and 15th overall on the opening day and will be part of Quarterfinal four. In archery, India’s only male participant, Atanu Das will be playing his Round of 64 elimination event. Das, who finished an impressive fifth in the ranking round, will be up against Nepal’s Jitbahadur Muktan, who is ranked 60th. Of all the events Indians will compete in on day four, only the women’s 25m pistol is a medal event. After Heena Sidhu failed to qualify for the finals of the 10m air pistol, an event in which she has won most of her medals,  she will be keen to make a mark in the 25m pistol. While it would be a long haul to expect a medal from her in an event she is not very proficient in, but if she can hold her nerves and put in a strong showing, she may be able to spring a surprise.
