Rio Olympics 2016: Attention Game of Thrones fans, there’s a Brandon Starc competing in high jump
What happens when there is an athlete competing in the ongoing Rio Olympics 2016 who goes by the name of Brandon Starc?

What happens when there is an Olympic athlete who happens to go by the same name as a popular character from Game of Thrones? The Internet loses it, is what happens.
At the ongoing Rio Olympics 2016, there is an Australian athlete called Brandon Starc, whose name, as many nerds on the internet have helpfully pointed out, sounds quite similar to Brandon 'Bran' Stark from Game of Thrones, only the most popular television show.
But wait, it only gets better. What happens when said Starc is competing in the intense sport of high jump?
Game of Thrones fans (which is probably half the population on social media) have lots and lots of jokes about it. After all Bran Stark in the series literally took a "high jump", after he was pushed off a tower by Jaime Lannister, after the latter spots the child watching him do things to his sister that no sibling should even think of doing.
Reel life Bran Stark may not have landed well, but real life Brandon Starc, from Australia, did admirably well, even qualifying for the men's high jump finals with a leap of 2.29 meters and will take part in the finals on Wednesday morning.
Incidentally, Brandon is Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc's younger brother and the older Starc tweeted about his younger sibling's achievement.
What a legend young cratsy... qualified for the Olympic final good boy!!! Very proud... #whatalegend @Brandonstarc93

But the best tweet cams from Game of Thrones fans who flooded the internet with all sorts of jokes about the Aussie Starc. Check out some of the best reactions, which predictably include several Wall, Winter and Hodor jokes.
And they said he would never walk again. Good luck in the high jump final! @Brandonstarc93 #HouseStarc #GoT #Rio2016 pic.twitter.com/HnlPakI4Ps

There is an Australian named Brandon Starc at the Olympics in high jump. No confirmation on there being a Hodor.

If Brandon Starc's friends and family didn't constantly make "Summer (2016) is coming" jokes, I'd disown them. pic.twitter.com/zW2ONM5I0m
