AP[/caption] Zhukov said the Paralympic Committee of Russia has a right intention to go to court because the International Paralympic Committee’s (IPC) decision to remove Russian para athletes is absolutely unreasonable, politicised and made under pressure, reports Xinhua. Zhukov recalled a recent example when the International Olympic Committee (IOC) gave Russian athletes the opportunity to participate. He also noted that the Russian paralympic team also has the right to participate at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. IPC issued a statement on Sunday banning all Russian athletes from 2016 Rio Paralympics “with immediate effect”. The paralympics are scheduled to be held in Rio de Janeiro from 7-18 September.
