Screen grab from Google Australia[/caption] The Google doodle in Australia showed a bat rested on a wall, as the cricket fraternity world started their ‘#putoutyourbats’ campaign in honour of the cricketer on social media. The hashtag #PutOutYourBats was started by fan Paul Taylor, a dad from Sydney, who tweeted a picture of his cricket bat outside his front door with the hashtag as a mark of respect to the player.
The hashtag soon started trending on Twitter with current and former cricket stars, celebrities and fans from all over the world sharing pictures of their bats in tribute to Hughes. Here are some tweets with the #PutOutYourBats hashtag:
