Pro Kabaddi: Telegu Titans outclass U Mumba to end on winning note

Pune: Telugu Titans beat U Mumba 46-25 to finish their campaign with a win in the Pro Kabaddi here today as favourites tested their bench strength. U Mumba finished on top with 50 points after the end of the match which was of academic interest. It was the superb all-round display from Pradeep Kumar, who had six raiding and three defence points. PTI[/caption] He had splendid support from Rohit Baliyan 8 (7 raid and 1 bonus) and Prashant Rai 9 (8 raid and 1 bonus) points. The winners were 20-12 up at half-time with one all-out scored in the 15th minute. U Mumba, who had won yesterday against Puneri Paltan were not able to get their act going though they tried to keep pace with their rivals up to 9-9. This was possible due to the efforts of Captain Pradeep Kumar and Bhupender who had four and two points to their credit. U Mumba faded after the break as Prashant Rai and Rohit Baliyan stepped up the gas and a few failed attempts by the rival defence especially Anoop E V and Jeeva Gopal led to the Titans opening up a lead of 32-18 with a second all-out. Iran?s captain Fazel Atrachali showed some promise initially by super tackling rival Prashant Rai but he could not replicate that thereafter. Prashant came up with a super raid of three at that time. Pradeep kept on trying till the end and was rewarded with a super raid late in the match. This one only helped reduce the margin by three to 23-39. Sandeep the youngster made a few amends in the end by making some clean tackles. In the end it was the Titans who proved to be the better of the two. PTI
