Pro Kabaddi League 2023-24 final preview: The Pro Kabaddi League is set to welcome a new champion this year with Haryana Steelers facing Puneri Paltan in the final at Hyderabad’s GMC Balayogi Sports Complex on Friday, 1 March.
The Steelers’ best-ever result remains their fifth-place finish on debut during the fifth season, which took place in 2017. As for Puneri Paltan, this will be a second consecutive appearance in the summit clash of the sport’s most prestigious league. Paltan had suffered a 33-29 defeat against the Jaipur Pink Panthers in last year’s final, and will hope to end up on the right side of the result this time around.
While the Paltan had thrashed three-time champions Patna Pirates 37-21 in the semi-finals, Haryana Steelers had qualified for their maiden final after ending Jaipur Pink Panthers’ title defence with a 31-27 win.
Puneri Paltan had earlier finished on top of the table at the end of the league stage with 96 points, four more than the second-placed Jaipur. While these two qualified directly for the semis, Dabang Delhi (79), Gujarat Giants (70), Haryana Steelers (70) and Patna Pirates (69) ended up competing for the remaining two spots in the Eliminators.
