Premier League: Eddie Howe believes Bournemouth will bounce back after poor start to season

Bournemouth’s poor start to the season is not a consequence of the attitude of the players but an inability to deliver when it matters, manager Eddie Howe has said. Lying second from bottom in the Premier League table after four games, Howe’s side are yet to get a point and have scored just once. Reuters[/caption] Howe is unfazed by the club’s form ahead of their home game against Brighton and Hove Albion on Friday night and said Bournemouth would turn the corner eventually. “I wouldn’t question the attitude of the players,“ Howe told a news conference on Thursday. “I’d question their performances but never their attitude.” “When you work so closely with a group every day you see the trends and you see the attitude, the willingness to do well – that’s all there… we just haven’t delivered on game day.” Howe said Bournemouth, who finished ninth behind Southampton last season, have shown character to come through testing times and stressed the need to get back to the basics. “It’s never been a straight line of success, there are always moments where you are tested and you ask questions of yourself,” he said. “We’ve always done that and I back us to come through that again.” However, the manager said that he had a few worries with his team’s style of play this season. “We’ve always been very good with the ball and we haven’t seen that this season, which is the most concerning thing,” Howe added. Winger Junior Stanislas trained with the first team this week after groin surgery last season while striker Callum Wilson is working on his fitness as he recovers from a knee injury. Brighton and Hove Albion won their first game of the season last weekend beating West Bromwich Albion 3-1 while Bournemouth come into the fixture on the back of a 3-0 loss at Arsenal.
