There are still a few weeks before the football season kicks off across the globe, and fans are eagerly awaiting to watch their favourite teams in action. Until then, they can find solace in pre-season friendlies, something which has become a regular occurrence over the last few years.
The International Champions Cup (ICC) will be one of the tournaments that will feature all the big clubs from across the globe. The teams will look to be get some valuable match practice during these matches before the real action begins.
Manchester United will be one of the big names that will take part in ICC. They will play LA Galaxy at StubHub Center, Carson on 15 July in their first pre-season friendly before facing Real Salt Lake in Sandy on 17 July.
After these two matches, Manchester United will face Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona on 20, 23 and 26 July respectively.
Meanwhile, Manchester City will start their pre-season against United on 20 July, and will hope for a winning start having held the upper hand in their derby at Old Trafford last season.
They would then face Champions League champions Real Madrid on 26 July in Los Angeles and finally head Nashville to face Tottenham Hotspur.
After finishing their ICC matches, Pep Guardiola's men will close off their pre-season fixtures by playing against West Ham united for their annual 'Super Match' in Iceland.
Arsenal will join their English counterparts in the ICC as well. This could be the first opportunity for fans to see how their new recruit Alexandre Lacazette fares when they play their first pre-season fixture against Sydney FC in Sydney on 13 July.
Arsenal's trip to Australia will end with a game against Western Sydney Wanderers on 17 July, they will then face up Bayern Munich and Chelsea in the Chinese phase of ICC on 19 and 22 July respectively.
Arsene Wenger's men would then make way their back to Europe for two back-to-back games on 29 and 30 July against Benfica and Sevilla.
Last season's Premier League champions Chelsea seem to have a lighter schedule in the pre-season as they have just three friendlies so far.
Antonio Conte's men will start off against Arsenal on 22 July in Beijing. After facing their Premier League rivals, Chelsea will head to Singapore to face Bayern Munich and Inter Milan on 25 and 29 July respectively.
Inter Milan, on the other hand, are scheduled to play a total of four friendlies, with three of those games featuring in the ICC.
While they will play their first friendly against WSG Swarovski Wattens, the Italian giants will then take on Lyon, Bayern Munich and Chelsea in China of ICC on 24, 27 and 29 July respectively.
Italian champions Juventus and AC Milan both are taking part in three friendly matches each.
Juventus face off against FC Barcelona on 22 July, and their other two matches will be against PSG and Roma in the ICC on 27th and 30th July respectively. Their rivals AC Milan will play their set of three friendlies against FC Lugano, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. The three games, two of which are part of the ICC, will take place on 11, 18 and 22 July respectively.
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also one of the big teams that are participating in the ICC. Their fixture against BCF Wolfratshausen on 15 July would be their first pre-season game, and they will also take part in the Audi Football Summit by playing against Arsenal and AC Milan on 19 and 22 July respectively. In ICC, the German giants are up against Chelsea and Inter Milan, to be played on 25 and 27 July respectively.
Real Madrid and FC Barcelona fans too will see their favourite teams in action. Before the two teams face each other on 29 July in Miami, Barcelona will face Juventus and Manchester United during their trip to the United States. Barcelona will also have Chapecoense over for a friendly on 7 August at Camp Nou.
Real Madrid will begin with matches against Manchester United and Manchester City before closing off against MLS Stars in Chicago on 2 August.
Another big club that will be one of the teams to participate in the ICC is Paris Saint-Germain, who will play AS Roma, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus.
