PBL 2017: Bengaluru Blasters coach confident of winning next three matches to stage comeback

Despite being placed fifth on the points table, Bengaluru Blasters head coach Arvind Bhat said on Friday that his team was confident of winning the next three matches to stage a comeback in the Premier Badminton League (PBL). “We have a bright chance. There is no doubt about this. We are the best in the world in doubles, mixed doubles, and in singles. We need to win three matches, and we will do it,” Bhat said. The duo of Ko Sung Hyun and Yoo Yeon Seoung are the current number One in mixed doubles and Viktor Axelsen is one of the best in singles. Bhat said that the team is going into this round of contest with high spirits, thinking that they have not lost the last match against Chennai. Blasters have won one match and lost another in the two matches they have played so far. Though they won the first match against the Delhi Acers, it was a hard-earned win. The team was routed by Chennai Smashers 0-5 in their next match. Bhat said that in spite of the team being placed fifth on the points table, the players are hundred per cent hopeful and would give their best. Replying to a query, Bhat said that Mumbai, Awadhe and Hyderabad are good teams. Asked about the reasons of the embarrassing defeat at the hands of Chennai Smashers, Bhat said, “We did not lose badly - nor can anybody say we were routed by Chennai. We lost the matches from the stages of match points, otherwise we would have won both the matches and placed the team on top of the table.” Earlier, the Blasters participated in their first training session at Koramangala Indoor Stadium as they prepared for their home leg. The team had arrived in the city on 4 January and will take on the Hyderabad Hunters in their first tie on Saturday.
