India bagged six medals at Paris Olympics 2024 with five bronzes and a silver. Neeraj Chopra, the defending champion in men’s javelin throw, won the lone silver medal medal. Manu Bhaker contributed two medals to India’s tally with an individual and team bronze alongside Sarabjot Singh. Shooter Swapnil Kusale also helped with a bronze.
Wrestling kept its trend of adding to India’s tally at Olympics with Aman Sehrawat clinching bronze. Indian men’s hockey team won medals at consecutive Games for the first time since doing a double at 1968 and 1972.
There’s a chance of the tally ticking over to seven medals if the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rules in Vinesh Phogat’s favour following her appeal for being disqualified.
India had sent 117 athletes to Paris Olympics 2024 who competed across 16 sports. The contingent included 70 male and 47 female athletes.
**Paris Olympics: News, schedule, medals tally and more**The highest representation came from athletics who sent 29 athletes while 21 shooters took part in the Paris Games.
India started their campaign even before the 26 July opening ceremony with the individual ranking round in archery on 25 July. Officially, India kicked off their camping on 27 July with the 10m air rifle mixed team event.
Paris Olympics 2024: Complete medal tally
