LeBron James has once again grabbed the spotlight on social media, but this time, it’s not for his game. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar recently shared a short 10-second teaser with the hashtag _The Second Decision_, and it caused a huge buzz online. Many people thought LeBron was about to make a big career announcement, but what followed left fans disappointed.
The clip showed LeBron walking into an empty basketball court and sitting under the ring in front of a reporter. The setup looked similar to his famous 2010 ESPN special The Decision, when he announced that he was leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers to join the Miami Heat. This caused people to think that the new video might be about his retirement or his future with the Lakers.
The video had the caption “The decision of all decisions. October 7th. 12pm EST,” and it ended with “coming soon,” which made fans even more curious.

The suspense finally broke when it was revealed that The Second Decision was actually an advertisement for the drink company Hennessy. In the full version of the video, which was later revealed by the liquor brand, a reporter asks LeBron, “Fans want to know where you’re taking your talents this year. What’s your decision?” LeBron smiles and says, “I’m taking my talents to Hennessy VSOP.”

Fans slam LeBron for clickbaiting them
The video quickly went viral and many fans felt triggered and upset. They said they were expecting some real news about LeBron’s future, and not a marketing campaign. Some people praised the ad’s creativity and speculated about how much money LeBron must have earned for the ad, but others reacted negatively.
Fans accused LeBron and Hennessy of playing with people’s emotions just to sell a product. One fan even slammed the athlete for setting a bad example for the kids who look up to him by promoting a liquor brand. Otherwise, the post is filled with memes and jokes about LeBron’s future plans.

There were little kids outside of my son’s elementary school this morning talking about what this was about. They’re going to be so disappointed it was just an ad for something they’re waaaaay too young to for 😂
