Mumbai City FC have announced the signing of Tunisia’s Selim Benachour for the Indian Super League’s (ISL) second season. Getty[/caption] Benachour started his career with Paris Saint-Germain in 2001 and stayed with the French club till 2005. His other high profile moves include a stint with Spanish La Liga side Málaga and Cypriot club APOEL. While in Cyprus, he helped APOEL win the 2012–13 First Division title and also appeared in two UEFA Europa League group stage matches. The 33-year-old also won the Cypriot Cup and the Cypriot Super Cup. Benachour strength’s are his wide range of passing and vision which he showed for Tunisia during the World Cup in 2002. “I am extremely happy to join forces with my former teammate, Nicolas Anelka. I am also very excited to be a part of Mumbai City FC in the ISL and all that this league has to offer. I heard a lot about the ISL and Mumbai City FC last year, and I cannot wait to start training with my new team mates,” Benachour said. Anelka-managed Mumbai City FC start their campaign against FC Pune City on 5 October.
