Manchester United manager David Moyes has rubbished Chelsea counterpart Jose Mourinho’s claims that the Premier League champions will sell Wayne Rooney to a foreign club next summer. “United made it clear they don’t swap or sell players to direct rivals,” the Portuguese was quoted as saying in this BBC Football report. “Maybe this summer they will try sell to a non-direct rival,” he added. Getty Images[/caption] Mourinho ruled out making a bid for Rooney after making his interest very clear the previous summer. However, Moyes has done a good job of persuading the striker to stay and has also brought the best out of him. The United No 10 however, will not be available for the crunch game against Chelsea on Sunday at Stamford Bridge. “I completely disagree,” Moyes said of Mourinho’s claims. “The club do the right things, there is no doubt about that. We’ll make sure we do the things we need to do.” He also made light of the remarks saying that while he won’t leave for a club abroad, he will certainly be going to Brazil for the World Cup. Mourinho has been freely talking about United in the press during the build-up to the match, also saying at one point that he knew they were ’not happy’.
