Monty Panesar, the 31-year-old left-arm spinner from England, let himself have a little too much to drink while he was partying at the Shooshh club on Brighton’s beachfront, which was hosting a Gay Pride event. He was asked to leave when a group of women complained he was hassling them. And then according to a report in The Sun, he went up to the promenade above the club and relieved himself on the bouncers. It took a while but the men chased him down after realising what had happened. According to the Sun, he was cornered at a nearby pizza parlour, where he was heard shouting “Help! Help!” [caption id=“attachment_1016891” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “A 31-year-old man received a fixed penalty notice for being drunk and disorderly after being seen urinating in public near the Shooshh Club in King’s Road Arches, Brighton, around 4.13am on Monday.” Panesar, who lives in nearby Hove, subsequently apologised. Panesar was picked for the England squad that held on to the Ashes in Manchester on Monday, but he did not play.
