Legendary Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher, who has lived a quiet life for more than a decade due to a skiing accident in 2013, reportedly made a rare public appearance recently. For the first time in 11 years, Schumacher made a public appearance when he attended the wedding of his daughter in Spain’s Mallorca, as per multiple reports.
It was in 2013, a year after his retirement, when Schumacher suffered a serious brain injury while skiing in the French Alps. Ever since, he has lived a silent life with only a few family members and his team of medical professionals being in direct contact with the 55 year-old.

29 December 2013: Michael Schumacher sustains a horrific brain injury during a skiing accident at the French Alps. He is taken to Hospital of Moutiers in France for treatment and is said to be in a “critical condition”. He is then taken to Grenoble Hospital in France, where he spends for the next six months.
30 December 2013: Schumacher undergoes treatment for the removal of brain haemorrhage. Doctors find severe lesions on Schumacher’s brain and the German is placed in a medically-induced coma.

More Shorts31 December 2013: Schumacher undergoes another operation but lesions remain. According to the doctors, Schumacher is showing “slight” signs of improvement. It is also reported by French media that Schumacher’s helmet “broke into two” during the accident.
7 January 2014: Investigators who are probing the accident say that excessive speed, faulty skis and lack of board signage are not reasons for Schumacher’s accident. According to the investigators, Schumacher threw himself into the air after he struck on one rock, before heading onto another one.

6 August 2014: The man who stole Schumacher’s documents dies by suicide, hanging himself in his jail cell. The man had worked as an executive of Rega, a Swiss helicopter company which conducted Schumacher’s transfer from Grenoble to the Lausanne rehab centre.
9 September 2014: Schumacher returns home to Geneva, Switzerland but remains unresponsive.
