Wayne Rooney couldn’t have found himself in a worse position. The unsettled striker, who has been pushing for a move away from Old Trafford, is now facing a revolt from his own teammates.
According to Mirror.co.uk
, senior players Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra and even Ryan Giggs seem to be annoyed with the No 10’s behaviour. United rejected a bid of £25 million from Chelsea yesterday, and immediately after, Rooney pulled out of their friendly against AIK in Stockholm citing a shoulder injury. The club have since confirmed that he has a slight niggle, but the timing of the pullout, and the fact that Rooney’s posters were used to advertise the friendly leaves United in a fix. Sources in the report have said that there is an increasing level of annoyance towards Rooney and his desires to leave the club and senior players are “unhappy” at his stance. United may sell Rooney to a club who will not directly compete with them for the Premier League title, but Chelsea is not one of those clubs and their bids have been immediately rejected on both occasions. They are, however, reportedly preparing a new bid.
