Khelo India Para Games 2023: All you need to know about the maiden season of the multi-sport event

The first-ever edition of the Khelo India Para Games got underway on 10 December in Delhi. The event will come to an end on 17 December. This year’s Para Games is the 12th event under the aegis of Khelo India. Overall, five Khelo India Youth Games, three Khelo India University Games and three Khelo India Winter Games have taken place. More than 1350 participants from across 32 states and union territories, including Services Sports Control Board, are taking part in the inaugural edition of the Khelo India Para Games. The para athletes will be vying for medals in seven disciplines including para-athletics, para-shooting, para-archery, para-football, para-badminton, para-table tennis and para-weight lifting. Three SAI stadiums have been chosen for the games to be held and the venues are – Indira Gandhi Stadium, Shooting Range in Tughlaqabad and the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The Para badminton fixtures, scheduled to be held at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, kicked off early. The opening ceremony will take place on 11 December. The event will conclude on 17 December with a closing ceremony set to happen at the JLN Stadium.
