In a shocking incident in Kanpur, Dolly Singh, a national level kabaddi player was reportedly assaulted in broad daylight by a group of goons.
The incident occured when the athlete allegedly resisted a molestation attempt, according to IBNLive.
Singh claims that 10-12 men entered her house, armed with pistols and sticks and beat her up. She has severe injuries as a result, including a broken nose, adds the IBNLive report.
Singh was quoted by ANI as saying, “When I had come back home a month back, some locals in the village had mistreated me. On 12 June some 10-12 boys with their faces covered came and started abusing me. They even hit me. I received severe injuries. They did so because I complained against them.”
A probe has been ordered in to the incidents but no arrests have been made so far.
