ISL 2017-18: Delhi Dynamos revamp entire squad, add 15 new players from draft

New Delhi: Delhi Dynamos have reinforced their squad for the Indian Super League Season 4 with a mixture of both youth and experience in the recently held draft. The side added 15 new players to their ranks with the most notable ones being defender Pritam Kotal, goalkeeper Albino Gomes and forward Romeo Fernandes. Having decided to not retain any players from the previous season, Aizawl custodian Albino Gomes was Dynamos’s first choice in the draft. The 23-year old played a key part in the northeastern side’s historic triumph in the recently concluded season of the I-League. The wingback spent the initial seasons of the ISL with FC Pune City, before moving to Atletico de Kolkata where he was a vital cog in the side’s Championship winning team. Kotal has also represented Mohun Bagan in the I-League and has been one of the mainstays in the Indian national football team. Up front, the GMS owned Delhi franchisee have added the pacy and skillful winger Romeo Fernandes. The 25-year old has spent the last three ISL seasons with FC Goa and his impressive performances saw him earn a loan deal with Brazilian side Atletico Paranaense. Joining Romeo up front will be Seityasen Singh who was previously plying his trade with NorthEast United. The 25-year old made six appearances for the Highlanders last season and found the back of the net on two occasions. Winner of the 2015 edition of the ISL, Sena Ralte will also be representing the Dynamos this season, alongside the experienced Pratik Chowdhury and Munmun Lugun who rejoins the team after a gap of three years.
