Former Man United captain Gary Neville could be next Delhi Dynamos manager: Reports

In what could be the highlight in the Indian Super League’s short yet stunning history, Delhi Dynamos are set to appoint former Manchester United captain Gary Neville as their new manager. It is not the first time that the ISL has attracted the very best in the business, but the arrival of Gary Neville would be the icing on the cake for Premier League lovers in India. If various reports in the British as well as Indian media are to be believed, Gary Neville could be on his way to Indian shores to manage Delhi Dynamos in ISL 2016. Neville would succeed the legendary Roberto Carlos at the helm. The news was initially broken by Manchester based Forest-Echo’s Dudley Waterhouse on Twitter.

Noted football agent Bajjit Rihal, who in the past has facilitated player transfers of Michael Chopra to the ISL, too shared the same news earlier in the day.

Neville, who won eight Premier League titles, two Champions League crowns and three FA Cups was installed as the Valencia manager earlier this season, but a string of poor results led to his dismissal in March. Delhi Dynamos through would have to splash out a lot of cash if they are to acquire Neville’s signature. He was believed to be earning £1.2million a year at Sky Sports, where he was one of the most popular pundits. But the Dynamos sold a 55% stake to Dubai’s Wall Street Investments Ltd. for Rs 43.32 crore, as reported by ScoopWhoop and have the finances to shell out the required amount for such a massive signing. If Delhi Dynamos do manage to bring the former Manchester United right-back to India, they will be pleasing a huge fan base in India.
