He is crying most of the time while repeating that he is innocent. The newspaper quoted Fr John Puthuva, the northern region coordinator of the Prison Ministry of India - a Christian organisation that provides counselling support to prisoners - who met the pacer on Thursday. He said that every word Sreesanth spoke reflected his fear of incarceration. He is unable to come to terms with the difficult conditions in the jail. Apparently he is unable to take it any more. He broke down literally at the end of every sentence, the priest said. When the priest advised him to shave off his beard and look cleaner, Sreesanth vowed that he would do it only after visiting the Shabarimala shrine in Kerala. He is in deep prayers for his bail when his judicial custody ends on June 4. The cricketer looked deeply depressed when his brother, Deepu Santhan, met him in the jail as well. The newspaper reported that the brothers cried many times during their 90 minute meeting. Deepu brought him new clothes and his contact lenses. Sreesanth has been suffering from a nagging headache since he couldn’t change his contacts. Deepu and a few close friends are camping in Delhi to support Sreesanth and to coordinate with his lawyers. Sreesanth’s lawyers would request the jail authorities today to shift him to a better cell. At present, he is in an overcrowded quarters and he is scared of the new inmates who keep coming in. Jail authorities had earlier said that the cricketer was very reluctant to go to Tihar and was highly emotional.
