Delhi police commissioner Neeraj Kumar has confirmed that Raj Kundra has admitted to placing bets on his team, the Rajasthan Royals, in the recently concluded India Premier League. “Raj Kundra has placed bets on his own team and said he had made losses as well. Initial reports indicated that he would be made a prosecution witness in the spot-fixing case against three Rajasthan Royals players and a number of bookies. However post the questioning it emerged that Kundra was also possibly under the scanner. Meanwhile answering a question on the decision to charge the three arrested Royals players Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) Kumar denied that they had pressed charges under the act to deny players bail. “We haven’t applied MCOCA in spot fixing case to deny players bail. We have applied law based on the crime committed.
