Is the IPL a declining asset?
Rajeev Shukla, chief of IPL, said that there is nothing to worry when it comes to the popularity of the 5th season of the league.
Rajeev Shukla, chief of IPL, had to face some tough bouncers from Karan Thapar on his show Devil's Advocate on CNN-IBN.
Karan Thapar referred to recent TAM (Television Audience Measurement) results and pointed towards the low numbers IPL has scored in comparison to the earlier IPLs. But Rajeev Shukla said that there is nothing to worry when it comes to the popularity of the 5th season of the league.
"TAM provides data. Everybody analyzes according to its convenience", said Shukla rubbishing the analysis made against the tournament.
Shukla also answered questions regarding the fitness of the players. "If anybody is feeling fatigued, if anybody has got any injury, he should immediately inform the BCCI and they will give adequate rest."
Shukla also quoted "a 57 percent increase in internet viewership" as an aspect that the media seems to be ignoring.
