Siddharth Trivedi, the seam bowler who plays for the Rajasthan Royals, is likely to be suspended by the BCCI for failing to notify the the IPL’s Anti-Corruption Unit despite being approached by unknown people about the possibility of fixing games. The Indian Express quotes an unamed BCCI official saying that Tridevi will be given a show-cause notice and suspended until the inquiry into his behaviour is completed. The board was apparently unaware that Trivedi had been approached until the Delhi Police revealed he would be a witness for the prosecution and he recorded a statement before a majistrate in a Delhi court last month. Trivedi could be guilty of breaching the BCCI’s anti-corruption code, which states that “failing or refusing to disclose to the ACU of the BCCI (without undue delay) full details of any approaches or invitations received by the participant to engage in conduct that would amount to a breach of this anti-corruption code.” According to the Indian Express, the BCCI will also send notices to Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Amit Singh within a week, since all three have no been granted bail.
