2313 IST

Dropped! Pollard lofts one towards long-off, where McCullum looks to have the ball covered. But at the last minute he twists his body, averts his eyes and throws up his hands as he loses sight of the ball. It sails over his head and goes one bounce for four.

Looks like the light was in McCullum's eyes there.

Eight off the over in the end. After 14, MI are 112/3.

2309 IST

SIX! Senanayake is getting some rough treatment tonight. Rohit advances down the wicket and swings straight through the line of the ball.

Malinga has a good over going until Morgan cracks his last ball for four through midwicket. Then he hands out some punishment to Johnson too, hitting him six over long-on and then clipping him off his toes for four.

Harbhajan Singh puts in the dive to try and stop it and injures himself in the process. He is lying prone behind the rope and the trainer is out to provide treatment.

2140 IST

Tiwary takes on Chahal and wins. 13 off the over, including a four to long-on and a straight six. After 16 overs, KKR are 125/3.

2133 IST

Johnson produces a superb 15th over - just one from it - as KKR have lost their momentum.

2129 IST

Eoin Morgan has livened things up a bit by reversweeping Harbhajan and Chahal to the third man boundary. KKR's run-rate has dropped below 8 an over as Kallis ate up a chunk of the strike and found it hard to score. After 14 overs, KKR are 111/3.

2121 IST

OUT! That was coming. Kallis has been trying to pierce the offside field repeatedly but had been failing to find the boundary. He tried once again to hit Ojha inside-out off the back foot, but only found Rohit Sharma in the covers.

Kallis c Sharma b Ojha 37 (38b 4x4 0x6).

KKR are now 92/3 after 11.4 overs, having thrown away their blistering start. They have managed just 32/2 in the last 5.4 overs.

2114 IST

After 10 overs, KKR are 81/2.

2106 IST

OUT! Gambhir jumps out and tries to smash Ojha over the offside but doesn't get to the pitch of the ball. The ball loops up off the toe of the bat and Harbhajan takes an easy catch at cover.

KKR now 68/2 after 8 overs.

2101 IST

2054 IST

After 5 overs, KKR are 54/1.

2043 IST

Yusuf's dismissal has led to a slow down in scoring, but KKR are still ahead of the curve. Ten came from Johnson's over, with Gambhir playing one particularly sumptuous offdrive through the cordon of fielders. Lasith Malinga was then crunched off the back foot by Kallis and then hooked away for four

After 3 overs, KKR are 46/1.

2038 IST

Mitchell Johnson to bowl the second over.

OUT! Johnson strikes immediately. Yusuf tries to guide a length ball to the offside but doesn't get close enough and the nick is taken comfortably by Harbhajan at first slip.

KKR are 27/1.

2034 IST

Harbhajan Singh to open the bowling for KKR. Yusuf Pathan and Gautam Gambhir are the openers. Yusuf starts with a glide that just beats first slip but gets to the rope. The next three balls go for 4,4,6. A no-ball follows, from which Yusuf takes a single. Then Gambhir smacked the free hit for 6 too. Dot ball to finish. 26 from the first over.

2000 IST

The big news at the toss is Rohit Sharma will lead Mumbai Indians tonight. That means no room for Ricky Ponting. Mumbai have made two other changes as well. Ojha and Chahal are in while Munaf and Bhumrah are out. Kolkata have dropped Laxmi Ratan Shukla for Iqbal Abdullah.

Oh, and KKR will bat first after winning the toss.

1945 IST

The covers have come off. The toss will now take place at 8 pm and the game will start at 8.30 pm. Unless there is more rain, of course.

1930 IST

Relegated to the bottom half after four defeats, defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders must raise their game as they face another struggling giant Mumbai Indians in second of their three back-to-back home fixtures in the sixth Pepsi IPL here on Wednesday.

Both the teams find themselves on the same side of the fence having lost their last two matches respectively. But a cracker of contest is on offer especially given that it would be Mumbai Indians` veteran Sachin Tendulkar`s 40th birthday.

With the seniormost batsman showing glimpses of his class in his 47-ball 54 against Delhi Daredevils, the boisterous Eden crowd, which has been cheering for the Knight Riders so far, is set for a division of loyalty.

Can Tendulkar script a win for Mumbai Indians on his 40th birthday? BCCI

After back-to-back losses to Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings, Knight Riders` title defence is in danger as they have slipped to seventh with four points and are struggling to make the top four.

In pursuit of the elusive title, Mumbai Indians (6 points) are no better as they lie sixth after their defeats to Rajasthan Royals and Daredevils.

If the Knight Riders are struggling with their batting, the letdown for Mumbai has been their bowlers who failed to defend 162 the other day, handing Daredevils their first victory after six losses and thus allowing Virender Sehwag to explode back to form.

For the big spending Mumbai Indians, the real problem is that they are yet to get a settled side, even as they boast of a stars on paper. By making Ricky Ponting the skipper, they sometimes find themselves in quandary given the four-foreigner rule.

At times, Ponting looks like a liability quite similar to Adam Gilchrist for KXIP.

By his own standards, the Aussie great`s last five outings (in ascending order) read a miserable: 4, 14, 0, 6 and 28, the last against Royal Challengers Bangalore being his highest so far.

It is wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik (256 at 42.66) and the `classy` Rohit Sharma (230 at 57.50) who have been the two pillars of their batting and are placed fourth and fifth in the leading run-getters` list.

Tendulkar`s return to form against Daredevils might just augur well as they would look to down the struggling Knight Riders.

Bowling has been a big letdown for the Mumbai outfit as the pace trio of Lasith Malinga, Munaf Patel and Jasprit Bumrah look pedestrians.
