IPL 5 opening ceremony: Salman avoids Big B

While Amitabh Bachchan’s soulful recitation of Prasoon Joshi’s poem marked the beginning of IPL 5, Salman Khan’s dance performance was indeed a fitting finale. However, amidst enthralled fans, glitz, glamour and fireworks, what did not go unnoticed was that Salman and Big B were sharing a common platform after a very long time. And although awkward moments were likely, Salman avoided them by steering clear from the stage until the legendary actor finished his rehearsals. [caption id=“attachment_266036” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“Reuters”]  [/caption] The rumourmill says that Salman Khan makes a conscious effort to avoid Big B and his family after his ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai married the junior Bachchan. A Times of India report claims that before coming on stage, Salman preferred to wait in his vanity van till Amitabh Bachchan finished his rehearsals. While the two stars do exchange pleasantries when they come face-to-face in public, Salman, this time,  preferred to stay with his crew instead of facing the legendary actor. A similar incident occured at the funeral of Boney Kapoor’s first wife, Mona Kapoor, where Salman reportedly waited in the car when he learnt that the Junior Bachchan was inside and made an appearance only after he had left.
