IPL 2013 DD vs PWI: Pune win, Delhi finish rock bottom

1916 IST After 18.3 overs, DD are 125-8. Pathan falls after making 24 off 28 balls. It’s been a sorry campaign for DD and they sure have had a roller coaster ride in the IPL. 1909 IST After 17 overs, DD are 119-7. Morkel’s walking back now. He tried to hit the first ball he faced out of the ground but couldn’t hit further than Parnell who took a good running catch. Methews the bowler. 1906 IST After 16.3 overs, DD are 118-6. Gautam’s gone for 30, he tried to hit a six but ball hit the bottom of the bat and was caught at the boundary line by Gomez. 1901 IST After 16 overs, DD are 116-5. Pathan 21, Gautam 29. PWI are still in charge but this season they have made a habit of losing game from winning positions. They will hope they don’t repeat the mistake today. 1852 IST After 14 overs, DD are 100-5. 8 runs off the over but DD need a lot more than that. Parnell started off with a wide and another nicely timed four from Mahela and they were up and running. PWI have the advantage but a quick start could even things up. 1732 IST After 20 overs, PWI are 172-5. Last 5 overs, 65 runs. PWI made the last few overs count for sure. Wright’s 45 off 23 balls did the trick for them towards the end. PWI wanted a few good overs and Morne Morkel’s last over was just that. It looked like a good over to begin with but two fours off the last two ball made it PWI’s over. 1711 IST After 16 overs, PWI are 121-4. Some good hitting in the last over. Another good over for DD – Nadeem was on target and DD have managed to pull this back pretty well. At the start of the game, the TV experts thought that 150 would be a good target. 1631 IST After 7 overs, PWI are 48-1. Finch 14 and Pandey 7. Steady play, well some might say too steady. 1626 IST After 6 overs, PWI are 40-1. Nice over from Yadav. Manish Pandey is in next but he hasn’t had much of a chance to get going. 1620 IST After 5.1 overs, PWI are 37-1. The first ball of Umesh Yadav’s over was a wide and the second got the wicket. Finch and Uthappa have had 5 50+ partnerships this season and are among the most consistent openers this season. 1603 IST After 1 over, PWI are 11-0. Uthappa is up and running again. But these guys need to come up with the big innings if they want to take PWI to win. Toss Toss: PWI win the toss and elect to bat first. Pre-game This is the battle between the two worst teams in the IPL – Delhi Daredevils and the Pune Warriors India. Everything that could go wrong for these teams has. Both teams are tied on 6 points each and the loser of this game will end up last in the league. It doesn’t mean much because the 2014 auction is coming up and both franchisees will have a chance to chance team members and begin anew.
