The Justice Mudgal committee report on betting and match fixing in the Indian Premier League has said Gurunath Meiyappan, the son-in-law of BCCI president N Srinivasan, was involved in betting on the IPL and leaking confidential match related information, but the allegations of spot and match-fixing need further investigation.
“The role of Gurunath Meiyappan in Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the team official stands proved and the allegations of betting and passing of information against Meiyappan stand proved,” a report of the three-member committee headed by former Punjab and Haryana Chief Justice Mukul Mudgal said.
