IPL 2016: Yuvraj Singh touches Sachin Tendulkar's feet after playing vital knock for Sunrisers

Mumbai Indians succumbed to one of their worst defeats in Indian Premier League (IPL) history when their new home ground, Vishakhapatnam turned hostile for the home team as the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers ran riot. However it was a Mumbai Indians man that got the loudest cheer from the crowd. He wasn’t among the players on the field, but the one mentoring them. The crowd cheered wildly for Sachin Tendulkar when the batting legend appeared on the big screen. However, there was an even bigger tribute to the master, when Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Yuvraj Singh touched his feet in respect, making for a picture perfect moment. After the game, when the Mumbai Indians player congratulated the Sunsrisers Hyderabad players, Yuvraj Singh took the opportunity to touch Sachin Tendulkar’s feet, reported India Today. Embarrassed by Yuvraj’s gesture, Sachin stopped him, before hugging his former team-mate. Image Courtesy: Twitter @IPL[/caption] Yuvraj Singh’s contribution in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 85-run win over Mumbai Indians was an important one as his 23-ball 39 provided Shikar Dhawan with the perfect support in helping Sunrisers post 177. More importantly, Yuvraj Singh looked much like his old self and seemed to time the ball to perfection one more than one occasion. Some of his shots revived memories of his old self that mesmerized the Indian crowds in the past. Yuvraj Singh was probably buoyed by the presence of Sachin Tendulkar in the dugout, even if it was in that of his opponents. The left-handed batsman has often highlighted how Sachin Tendulkar has amazed him before and during his career, and perhaps it was Sachin’s presence that might have helped Yuvraj Singh rediscover his lost form. Only time will tell if that happens, but Yuvraj’s gesture certainly warmed hearts of many Indian cricket fans and served up a moment to remember in a match that failed to live up as a contest.
