Intense battle between Dhoni and Mustafizur right now! Edge off the third ball off Dhoni's bat, and the ball rolls down to the keeper, who doesn't let it pass through this time. Turning out to be a nightmare for Bhuvi, and SRH! Outside edge off the top of Dhoni's bat, and the ball beats short third man! Three singles off the last three balls, with 15 coming off the 18th! SIX! Flat one off Dhoni's bat, and the skipper gets his first boundary off the innings. Meanwhile, Perera has joined him at the other end, and Pune's hopes are pinned on the duo to get them across the finish line. 100 up for the Supergiants in the 17th over, with Dhoni and Perera dealing in singles for the most part now. Good fielding by Sran at fine third man in the last ball of the 17th, saving three runs for his side. Pune need 37 off the last 18 balls!

  • 23:08 (IST)

    After 15 overs,Rising Pune Supergiants 86/5 ( MS Dhoni (C) (W) 2 , )

FOUR! Ashwin gets the tempo going, getting his third boundary with a flick towards the leg side, beating short fine-leg! OUT! Ashwin is caught behind off Sran's bowling, with his entertaining cameo coming to an end, and out comes the Pune skipper Dhoni!

Pune need another 52 to win from 30 balls

  • 23:03 (IST)

  • 23:00 (IST)

OUT! Ashwin's entertaining cameo comes to an end, as he is caught behind off Sran's bowling off a short delivery outside leg. The field umpire goes upstairs with the decision, but eventually rules him out. Ashwin departs for 29 off 25, as RPS lose their fourth wicket with 78 on board!

  • 22:54 (IST)

  • 22:48 (IST)

    After 12 overs,Rising Pune Supergiants 68/3 ( Ravichandran Ashwin 22 , )

Mustafizur is finally introduced in the 10th over, and the Fizz is bowling from the Dr. Vizzy end. 50 comes up for Pune in the 10th over with a single. Brilliant direct hit by Kane Williamson at backward point, but Bailey's bat is well within at the striker's end. Five off Fizz's first over.

And some comedy in the subsequent over, with 'lucky' George surviving yet again! Brilliant stop by Yuvraj at gully, and he promptly throws it to the non-striker's end, Bailey almost halfway down the pitch. The ball however, pops out of Sran's hand to grant Bailey yet another life. FOUR! Pulled away like a pro by Ashwin!

FOUR more for Ashwin, with the ball travelling between the keeper's legs after an inside edge off Ashwin's bat away towards the long-stop boundary! OUT! And Bailey's innings finally comes to an end! Top-edges a short delivery along middle from Henriques towards deep square-leg, where Nehra makes sure not to grant Bailey another life!

Bailey departs for 34 off 40, much to SRH skipper and his Aussie team-mate Warner's delight, as Pune lose their third wicket with 68 on board, also bringing an end to the 49-run third wicket stand.

Pune need another 70 to win from 48, with seven wickets left in their kitty. Saurabh Tiwary is the new batsman.

  • 22:42 (IST)

  • 22:31 (IST)

    After 9 overs,Rising Pune Supergiants 47/2 ( George Bailey 29 , Ravichandran Ashwin 6)

Another change of bowling, and Henriques comes into the attack for the first over after powerplay. Skipper Warner is holding Mustafizur back for some special reason. Maybe RPS will find out the hard way later. Yuvraj into the attack for the eighth over, and Bailey gets his first six in the first over of spin today, coming down the track and hammering it straight down the ground. Stumping chance in the final ball of the eighth over, but Bailey's back foot is firmly grounded this time. FOUR! Pulled away by Bailey, and the ball beats the diving fielder at wide long-on! Pune need another 91 to win from 66

  • 22:17 (IST)

    After 6 overs,Rising Pune Supergiants 25/2 ( George Bailey 13 , Ravichandran Ashwin 0)

Khawaja comes down the track, and gets a top-edge off a short one from Nehra outside off, with Warner failing to hold on the catch at the slips, with the ball running away to the third man boundary. Four more! Hammered over mid-on in the fourth ball, with Nehra turning out to be expensive this over. OUT! Khawaja departs after returning for a risky second. Caught well short of the crease at the striker's end, thanks to some brilliant work by Hooda at deep cover, as well as keeper Ojha. Bailey gets a thick edge to the keeper in the second ball of the following over by Bhuvneshwar, but the umpire is not convinced! Bailey granted an extra-life on 7. The Aussie gets a boundary in the following over by Sran. Meanwhile, slow start for Pune, getting just 25 for the loss of two wickets at the end of the powerplay.

  • 22:09 (IST)

OUT! And its a combination of some brilliant fielding by the Hooda at deep cover, as well as some prompt work by keeper Ojha to whip the bails off, as Khawaja is caught well short of his crease to depart after getting for 13 off 8. RPS lose their second wicket with 21 on board at the end of the fourth over, and are in trouble once again.

  • 22:04 (IST)

    After 3 overs,Rising Pune Supergiants 9/1 ( Usman Khawaja 2 , George Bailey 6)

Terrible start for Pune, with Rahane getting caught behind off Bhuvi's bowling in the third ball of the second innings! The Sunrisers pace attack, arguably the most lethal among all the bowling units, cause early damage once again, and will look to run through the Pune top-order. Meanwhile, Bailey gets off the mark with a boundary off the last ball of the second over with a cover drive.

  • 21:54 (IST)

    OUT! Bhuvneshwar strikes second ball. A Rahane c Ojha b Kumar 0 (3b 0x4 0x6)

It's a beauty. Good length delivery outside off, it nips away after landing. Rahane looks to defend but is done in by the away movement. He is squared up and gets an outside edge to the keeper.

George Bailey is the new batsman.

  • 21:39 (IST)

Zampa's 6/19 is the second-best bowling performance in IPL history, behind Sohail Tanvir's 6/14 for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Chennai Super Kings back in the inaugural edition in 2008.

  • 21:36 (IST)

  • 21:33 (IST)

    After 20 overs,Hyderabad 137/8 ( Barinder Sran 1 , )

Sunrisers reach 129 for five, with one over to go. The visitors will look to clear 140 from this stage, although they will have it a tough time going for it, with Zampa to bowl the final over. SIX! Hooda comes down the track, and smashes the first ball over long-on! OUT! Dhoni has a long chat with Zampa before the second delivery, and Zampa apparently heeds to his word. Hooda comes down the track again, only this time the ball turns away from Hooda's bat, into Dhoni's gloves before the bails are whipped off in an instant! Bhuvi walks out to bat without a helmet, and gets a single off the first ball.

OUT! Fifer for Zampa, as he removes Ojha with a quicker delivery along the leg-stump. Ojha is cramped for room, and gets an inside-edge, with the ball eventually getting deflected onto the stumps from his foot! First fifer of IPL 2016, and it comes in the 40th match! DROPPED! Miscue by Sran, as RP Singh fails to hold on to a catch near the slips despite a dive. OUT! SIX-FER for Zampa, and he records the 2nd-best bowling figures in the tournament's history after Bhuvneshwar gets caught by Tiwary at long-on for Zampa to finish a magnificent spell! Sunrisers Hyderabad set a 138-run target for Pune!

  • 21:27 (IST)

    After 19 overs,Hyderabad 129/5 ( Deepak Hooda 8 , Naman Ojha (W) 7)

SIX! Massive hit over midwicket by Hooda off a full-toss from Dinda. This following a boundary off the feet towards fine-leg in the 2nd ball of the over. Expensive end to Dinda's spell, with 14 coming off his last over.

  • 21:23 (IST)

    After 18 overs,Hyderabad 114/5 ( Deepak Hooda 0 , Naman Ojha (W) 0)

Zampa proves worth his money, getting rid of Yuvraj in the first ball of the 16th over. Departs for 23 off 21, with Moises Henriques walking out with the hope of getting quick runs on the board along with Williamson. FOUR! Driven through the covers by Henriques off Perera, getting his first boundary of the innings. Turns out to be another expensive one for Perera, conceding 12 off his second over, with Williamson hammering a boundary off the last ball towards backward square-leg! Zampa however, turns the game on its head in the 18th over, removing Williamson and Henriques in consecutive deliveries, with Bhatia taking both catches at long-off!

  • 21:22 (IST)

OUT! Same fielder! Same bowler! Same fielding position! Just that Henriques departs after coming down the track, and miscuing the length ball by Zampa towards long-off, where Bhatia does not have to move an inch to take a simple catch. The Aussie departs for 10 off eight, as Zampa gets two-in-two! SRH 114/5!

  • 21:19 (IST)

OUT! Zampa at it again, and he gets rid of the dangerous Williamson, who did not quite get going tonight! Pitched full and wide outside off, and Williamson does not get the distance while looking to clear long-off with a slog. Bhatia takes a fine running catch while running to his left. Williamson departs for 31, as SRH lose their fourth with 114 onboard.

  • 21:09 (IST)

OUT! Zampa gets his first wicket, and stops Yuvraj, who has looked superb in his short stay at the crease so far, before the southpaw can cause any further damage. Yuvi comes down the track in an attempt to clear long-off, but ends up miscuing it for Tiwary to grab yet another simple catch in the deep.

  • 21:07 (IST)

    After 15 overs,Hyderabad 96/2 ( Kane Williamson 24 , Yuvraj Singh 23)

Superb over by Ashwin in the 13th, conceding just one off it, as he ends with figures of 4-0-16-1. Commendable performance by Ashwin, which has been rare for the under-fire off-spinner this tournament. Expensive over however, for Bhatia after that, with Yuvraj executing a signature flick over wide long-on to add to the boundary by Williamson earlier, with 12 coming off the over.

Perera into the attack for the 15th, and Yuvraj gets his second six with a pull towards midwicket for a flat six! FOUR! Yuvi is displaying the incredible form that has eluded him for quite some time now. Short and outside leg, and Yuvraj shuffles to his left to ramp it towards fine-leg!

  • 21:06 (IST)

  • 20:55 (IST)

    After 12 overs,Hyderabad 69/2 ( Kane Williamson 17 , Yuvraj Singh 3)

Rajat Bhatia into the attack for the 10th over, with the Dhawan-Williamson stand looking increasingly intimidating. SIX! Lofted over extra-cover with dominance by Dhawan! His entertaining stay at the crease however, comes to a swift end in the following over, as he miscues an attempted slog towards long-on to get caught by Tiwary near the boundary. Dhawan departs for 33 off 27, as SRH lose their 2nd with 64 on board. Yuvi out to bat now. Meanwhile, Ashwin is getting some terrific turn on the track, and is looking lethal for the first time in the tournament.

  • 20:50 (IST)

OUT! Miscue by Dhawan, and it's Ravi Ashwin who gets the second breakthrough for RPS. Dhawan comes down the track, looking to smash it over long-on, but does not get enough power on the shot. Tiwary takes a simple one near the boundary rope, as the southpaw departs for 33 off 27 balls. SRH 64/2 after 10.2.

  • 20:47 (IST)

  • 20:41 (IST)

    After 9 overs,Hyderabad 51/1 ( Shikhar Dhawan 25 , Kane Williamson 11)

Spinners into the attack after powerplay, and Ravi Ashwin is getting some insane turn on the Vizag track in his first over, with the third ball going for two wides after pitching along off and turning square. Concedes six off his first over, and the Ashwin will look for the elusive good performance today. Adam Zampa into the eighth over. Brilliant delivery by Zampa to end the eighth over, with Dhoni going for an unsuccessful stumping chance. Williamson brings up the 50 for Sunrisers with a cut towards the vacant deep backward point region.

  • 20:31 (IST)

    After 6 overs,Hyderabad 34/1 ( Shikhar Dhawan 18 , Kane Williamson 3)

RP Singh gets the early breakthrough for Pune, and it is a major one! Removes the in-form Warner with a late outswinger, with Warner nicking it to the keeper while looking to slog it over mid-on. Williamson walks out in place of Warner, alongside Dhawan. FOUR! Dhawan gets his 2nd boundary, stretching his arms out to a wide delivery from RP, and despatching it over mid-off. Stunning effort by George Bailey at deep extra-cover after a powerful drive by Dhawan, who ends the over with a straight six after coming down the ground. Big over for the Sunrisers at the end of powerplay, with 13 coming off it.

  • 20:18 (IST)

OUT! Warner done in by an outswinger from RP, and he gets a faint nick to opposition wicketkeeper and his RPS counterpart Dhoni while looking to launch over mid-on. Departs for 11 from 14, and that is a major breakthrough for Pune, getting rid of the in-form Warner early! Hyderabad lose their first wicket with 18 on board.

  • 20:16 (IST)

Meanwhile, the stats are against the Sunrisers.

  • 20:15 (IST)

    After 3 overs,Hyderabad 18/0 ( David Warner (C) 11 , Shikhar Dhawan 6)

Right. Warner and Dhawan walk out to bat for the Sunrisers, and it is Ashoke Dinda, complete with his headband, who will open the bowling for Rising Pune Supergiants. Tight first over by Dinda, as he concedes just two off it, and is getting a plenty of movement at the moment. SIX! First boundary of the innings, and RP makes the fatal mistake of giving Warner the room to go for the slice over extra-cover! And that's Warner's 21st six of the ongoing tournament. Superb drive by Dhawan through the covers to bring up his first boundary of the innings as well as end the third over.

Hello and welcome to Firstpost's live coverage of the 40th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League between Rising Pune Supergiants and Sunrisers Hyderabad at Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.

While an in-form Hyderabad will look to inch a step closer towards the playoffs stage with a win, Pune will perhaps give one last try in order to salvage their flailing campaign with what can be described an 'upset' at this stage.

PREVIEW: A struggling Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) will aim to get their playoff hopes back on track with a win when they take on high-flying Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.

Debutants Pune, after seven losses in 10 games, find themselves in the bottom half of the points table with just six points. Hyderabad, after a couple of dominating performances, are in the second spot with 12 points from nine games.

Pune come into match after losing to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by seven wickets. RCB skipper Virat Kohli hit a brilliant sentury to outclass the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side.

On the other hand, Hyderabad will be high on confidence after thrashing defending champions Mumbai Indians in all departments of the game and winning the match by 85 runs on Sunday.

Dhoni has been left with a low-key side after star players Faf du Plessis, Kevin Pietersen, Steven Smith and Mitchell Marsh had to make their exit from the team due to injuries.

The side has failed to find the right combination which has resulted in a series of losses and currently find themselves in a place from where they have to win all matches to make it to the play-off stage.

The inclusion of Australia batsman Usman Khawaja and George Bailey haven’t made a big difference in the side’s fortunes.

Their bowlers have also been inconsistent in the tournament. Opener Ajinkya Rahane has been the lone warrior for them scoring 417 runs so far.

Dhoni, known to be calm and composed in pressure situations, will look to re-group and motivate his men to get back to winning ways on Tuesday.

Hyderabad, on the contrary, find themselves only a few steps away from making it to the last-four stage.

Being led by in-form batsman David Warner and his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan, the duo have made job easier for batsmen to follow in the middle and lower order with some good starts to the innings. The return of veteran batsman Yuvraj Singh after injury has strengthened their middle order.

The bowling attack of the Sunrisers comprising veteran Ashish Nehra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Muztafizur Rahman has been the most consistent in the tournament so far.

The pace trio will aim to deliver the same against an inconsistent Pune side and take their team one step closer to play-off stage.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: David Warner (c), Ashish Reddy, Ricky Bhui, Bipul Sharma, Trent Boult, Ben Cutting, Shikar Dhawan, Moises Henriques, Deepak Hooda, Siddarth Kaul, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Abhimanyu Mithun, Eoin Morgan, Mustafizur Rahman, Ashish Mehra, Naman Ojha (wk), Vijay Shanker, Karn Sharma, Barinder Sran, T Suman, Aditya Tare, Kane Williamson and Yuvraj Singh.
