IPL 2016: Gujarat Lions' Ravindra Jadeja reprimanded for showing dissent at umpire

Rajkot: Gujarat Lions all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been reprimanded by the match referee for showing dissent at the umpire’s decision during his side Indian Premier League match against Kings XI Punjab. “Mr Jadeja admitted to the level 1 offence (Article 2.1.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials) and accepted the sanction.” a statement from the IPL orgainsers said. Axar Patel’s hat-trick helped Kings XI Punjab to upset table toppers Gujarat Lions by 23 runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match in Rajkot on Sunday. Jadeja’s wicket on the first ball of the 11th over gave Axar Patel his hat-trick. Invited to bat by Gujarat Lions skipper Suresh Raina, Kings XI Punjab were all out for 154 in the stipulated 20 overs, but restricted the opposition to 131 for 9 in front of their home crowd at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium. Appointed captain midway into the cash-rich tournament in place of David Miller, Murali Vijay led from the front with a fluent knock of 55. With this win, Kings XI Punjab finally managed to turn things around in what has been a nightmarish campaign so far.
