Chess wizard Viswanathan Anand's mother Sushila Viswanathan has passed away in her sleep here. She was 79.

Chennai: Chess wizard Viswanathan Anand's mother Sushila Viswanathan has passed away in her sleep here. She was 79.
Her last rites will be performed on Thursday at 10 am at Besant Nagar crematorium here.
She leaves behind her husband K Viswanathan, daughter and two sons of whom Anand is the youngest.
PR Venkatarama Raja, president All India Chess Federation, expressed his condolences on the demise of Sushila Viswanathan, lauding her dedicated efforts in making Anand a Champion chess player.
Sushila taught Anand the basic moves of the game and accompanied him to various events.
