It was star striker Sunil Chettri's goal in extra time that proved to be decisive as India scripted a stunning comeback against a spirited Afghanistan side.

Kohli was full of praise for the Indian team and took to Twitter to express his happiness with a special mention of Chettri's winner and then there was a delightful exchange of words between him and India's football captain.

Zubayr Amiri (70th) had put Afghanistan in front before Jeje Lalpekhlua (72nd) got India back in the game, and then Chhetri finally sealed the matter in first half of extra time.

The Indians thus avenged their 2-0 loss to the defending champions in the final of the last edition in Katmandu in 2013. Kohli is an avid follower of football and also co-owns ISL football team FC Goa.
