India vs Sri Lanka, 1st Test, Day 2: Visitors dismiss Dimuth Karunaratne after posting 600 at tea

Galle: Sri Lanka were 38-1 at tea in their first innings after India posted an imposing 600 on the second day of the first Test in Galle on Thursday.

Upul Tharanga (24) and Danushka Gunathilaka (12) remained defiant after the hosts lost opener Dimuth Karunaratne in just the second over.

The Indians rode on centuries from Shikhar Dhawan (190) and Cheteshwar Pujara (153) to put on a commanding first innings total after electing to bat.

Paceman Nuwan Pradeep emerged as the most successful bowler, taking six wickets for 132 runs.
