"The SCA is going to host it's first-ever Test match next month and it's indeed a matter of pride for all cricket lovers of this region," SCA's media manager Himanshu Shah told PTI on Wednesday.

"The SCA and it's governing body have cordially invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first Test match," added Shah.

"It has been SCA's profound honour that Modiji has laid the foundation stone of the stadium on June 19, 2006 when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He has also inaugurated it on 5 January, 2013," the official said.

"Now Modiji has become the Prime Minister and his presence will be an inspiring force for all of us at the SCA," he said, adding the state association was waiting for the confirmation from Prime Minister's office.

The SCA has also invited Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and former players of the region, who represented the country at international level, for the match.

"Former cricketers like Salim Durani, Dilip Doshi, Karsan Ghavri, Yajuvendra Singh and Ajay Jadeja have been invited for the match," Shah added.

India vs England, T20 World Cup warm-up match, Live Updates: Chris Jordan to bowl. too straight from Jordan, and it's in the perfect slot for Hardik, who drills it between mid-off and extra cover for four! Great start to the over for India. Good ball, almost wide but not quite and it's a dot. Low full toss into Pandya's knees. He could have taken the single, but he chooses to stay on strike. Oh, very poor delivery from Jordan. That was wide and high, and it also ran away for four without making any contact with Pandya's bat. Free hit signalled. Pandya gets a huge edge on it, and that's four! It flies over short third man! Another low full toss, and the India duo run a double. Oh my word, a no ball now, and Pandya takes a single. Terrible over this from Jordan. Pant to face a free hit now. India just need 3 from 7 balls. Pant could end it now. It's a six and India win by seven wickets!!
